Addressing the gathering, Chef Vikas Khanna said,

“Food is about harmony — nourishing the body while honouring culture and joy. Cranberries embody that balance perfectly. They offer impressive health benefits and a vibrant flavour profile. I’m proud to collaborate with The Cranberry Institute and share their story across borders, encouraging people to explore new ways of bringing this ingredient into their kitchens.”

The event also spotlighted significant research findings.

Dr. Jignesh Gandhi, Professor of Surgery and Robotic & Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Gleneagles and Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai, emphasised the impact of recent studies on H. pylori infections in India.

“H. pylori affects nearly 60% of India’s population and is linked to chronic acidity and even stomach cancer. Research indicates that consuming cranberry juice twice daily for eight weeks can reduce infection rates by 20%. This suggests a promising complementary approach alongside standard medical treatments,” he explained.

He further noted that widespread adoption could improve patient adherence, help address antibiotic resistance concerns, and positively influence public health outcomes.

Mr. Sumit Saran, India Representative for The Cranberry Institute, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that Chef Khanna’s ability to merge health, tradition and culinary innovation makes him an ideal ambassador for the fruit.

Guests also participated in curated tasting sessions, reinforcing the ingredient’s adaptability across sweet and savoury preparations.

US Cranberries are now readily available at leading dry fruit outlets and major e-commerce platforms across India.
