Actor Aarti Bhagat opens up about the often-misunderstood reality of life behind the camera, from long workdays and personal sacrifices to battling stereotypes.
In an industry filled with lights and buzz, she shares why respect, gratitude, and staying grounded matter most.
“For me, success is when I feel proud after watching my own work on screen and when people connect with it,” Aarti Bhagat shares, adding, “That genuine smile on my family’s faces after seeing me perform, that’s the real success for me.”
Beyond the camera lights and red carpets, Aarti Bhagat says there are several false assumptions people make about actors. She explains,
“One common misconception is that actors party all the time. But honestly, after working long hours on set, most of us are exhausted. Many actors live alone and manage everything, from cooking and cleaning to commuting without even getting proper sleep.”
While acknowledging that parties are part of the profession, Aarti Bhagat clarifies their purpose. She says, “Yes, we do attend parties sometimes, but mostly to meet people, stay connected, and find new opportunities. Not all actors love partying; many prefer spending quiet time with family or just being by themselves.”
When asked about the most important lesson her journey has taught her so far, Aarti Bhagat emphasizes humility.
Aarti Bhagat says,
“I’ve learned to always show gratitude and respect to every single person on set whether it’s the producer or the spot boy. Everyone is working hard to support themselves and their families. No one is above or below anyone. Kindness and respect go a long way.”
