For actress Aarti Bhagat, portraying the character of Manjiri in Jamai No. 1 has been nothing short of a rewarding journey. One of the most fulfilling aspects of her role is the heartwarming sibling dynamic between Manjiri and her brother Neel, played by Abhishek Malik. Their relationship brings emotional depth and authenticity to the show’s storyline — something Aarti feels stems from a deeper real-life connection.
Speaking about this on-screen bond, Aarti Bhagat shares, “One of the most beautiful elements of the show is the sibling relationship between Manjiri and Neel. There’s a natural honesty and emotional truth to our scenes together. I think a big reason for that is the genuine connection Abhishek and I share off-screen as well. He’s not just a great co-actor but also an incredible person. That real-life comfort translates into chemistry on screen — it allows you to be fully present in the moment, to listen and react organically.”
When it comes to building believable on-screen relationships, Aarti Bhagat believes that trust and mutual respect play a vital role. “Chemistry isn’t accidental,” she says, adding, “It comes from a sense of ease and trust you build off-camera. Whether it’s a deeply emotional scene or something light and fun, knowing your co-actor is right there with you makes all the difference. I genuinely feel grateful to have that kind of camaraderie on this set.”
Aarti Bhagat also takes a moment to praise the production house behind Jamai No. 1, Studio LSD, for creating a supportive and inspiring work environment. “Studio LSD feels like home,” she says with a smile.
Aarti Bhagat adds, “They give us the space to explore creatively, while also offering guidance when needed. It’s the perfect mix of professionalism and emotional encouragement. I truly feel lucky to be part of this journey and their storytelling world.”
