Abdu Rozik: 'Get Ready For My Silver Screen Debut'

Oh man, you guys, I’m still laughing about the latest episode of Laughter Chefs!

What started off as an A-list celebrity cooking show evolved into a full-fledged comic spectacular. I mean, who needs a script when you’ve got celebrities like Abdu Rozik and Krushna Abhishek trying to whip up a soufflé? The best part? The judges’ reactions! It was obvious that Bharti and Harpal were chuckling on the inside, despite their best efforts to maintain a straight face. By the time the show ended, I was laughing so hard that I started weeping. I guess that’s what happens when you mix cooking, celebrities and a dash of chaos—pure comedy gold!

Downtown Mirror Weekly’s Shikha Duggal gets the inside scoop from Abdu Rozik all the way from Dubai on what makes the country’s top-rated show Laughter Chefs tick & more …

Even now, the relationships I made within the Bigg Boss house are unshakable. Because they are developed under specific circumstances, the friendships formed in that rigorous setting are remarkable.

Shikha Duggal: Laughter Chefs is a unique combination of comedy, food and competition. Is it the humour, the competitive edge, or the cooking that you find most difficult about the show?

Abdu Rozik: From overcoming all the obstacles to trying out new cooking techniques, I enjoy every component of the show. Every work is a chance for me to grow, challenge myself and demonstrate my abilities. Above all, though, I enjoy the thrill of winning the stars — it’s also a reflection of my diligence and hard work. I’m inspired by the excitement of competition and I relish the process just as much as the outcome!

Shikha Duggal: On set, there’s an electrifying vibe between you and Elvish. In what ways does your chemistry with him affect the show’s tone?

Abdu Rozik: We simply like dancing, having a good time and captivating the audience with our passion and vigour. For us, giving a performance on stage is about more than simply an act; it’s about making the audience remember us. There is a special type of happiness that comes from dancing, celebrating and connecting with the crowd. Their applause and encouragement feed our enthusiasm and elevate each performance to a unique occasion.

Shikha Duggal: The lighthearted chat on Laughter Chefs! How much of that interaction is unplanned?

Abdu Rozik: None of the banter between Elvish and me is scripted; it all happens organically on stage. Our chemistry is organic and we have a sincere connection. The closeness between the two brothers is evident on screen as we are often pushing and taunting one another. We laugh, have a good time and encourage one another every week. The audience really interacts with us because our conversations are so natural.

Shikha Duggal: The friendship adds a whole new level of happiness to the show. What effects do these dynamics have on your ability to cook?

Abdu Rozik: Cooking, winning stars and being cheeky on set are things that Elvish and I have always loved! Cooking with others involves more than just making food; it also involves planning, collaboration and enjoyment. We encourage one another to do better while also introducing some lighthearted mayhem. We make every challenge fun and thrilling with our competitive yet playful attitude.

Shikha Duggal: Both talents and weaknesses are frequently accentuated by reality TV. How has competing on Bigg Boss affected your self-perception?

Abdu Rozik: For me, my experience on Bigg Boss has been life-changing. In addition to revealing my weak side, it has increased my self-confidence. You learn a lot about your skills, limitations and ability to adjust under duress from the experience within the house. You gain the ability to adapt to every circumstance and meet obstacles head-on. It’s an emotional and mental rollercoaster that forces you to grow.

Shikha Duggal: You developed close relationships with everyone in the Bigg Boss house. Has the real world altered those dynamics?

Abdu Rozik: Even now, the relationships I made within the Bigg Boss house are unshakable. Because they are developed under specific circumstances, the friendships formed in that rigorous setting are remarkable. Our shared difficulties, joy and innumerable memories forged a strong bond between us. These connections hold true even after leaving the house, demonstrating that genuine friendships transcend the boundaries of the game.

Shikha Duggal: What about Indian audiences and their interactions with you has surprised you the most?

Abdu Rozik: Indian audiences have consistently shown great loyalty and I am appreciative of their steadfast support. Throughout my journey, they have supported me at difficult times and shared in my triumphs. Their support and affection keep me going and I treasure our relationship. It encourages me to put forth more effort and keep engaging my devoted fan base. The person who has influenced me the most is Salman Khan, whose leadership has always been motivating. In addition to being a legendary rockstar, he is also a wise mentor. My life has been profoundly impacted by his comments, counsel and appearance on the show. I genuinely appreciate and strive to imitate the grace and humility with which he conducts himself.

Shikha Duggal: You’ve been a reality TV star, entertainer and musician. In the upcoming years, do you envision yourself developing into something more than these roles?

Abdu Rozik: I continue to push myself, take advantage of new chances and wear numerous hats. I think that anything is achievable with perseverance and hard effort and my dream is to be the lead in a blockbuster movie. If you keep your eyes open, you might soon get a glimpse of me on the big screen! There are many surprises along the way and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.
