Love is Beautiful, But Friendship is Better-Anupam Bhattacharya on Cherishing Old Bonds
While many find these friendships in childhood or college, sustaining them in the fast-paced world of showbiz can be a challenge.
Actor Anupam Bhattacharya, currently seen in the television show Ishaani, opens up about the value he places on old friendships and why he believes they’re even more fulfilling than romantic love.
“Love is beautiful, but friendship is better… that’s how I see my friends,” Anupam Bhattacharya says, adding, “Even though I’m a people person, I’ve seen my circle of friends grow smaller over time. Life and especially life in this industry teaches you how hard it is to find genuine friendships.
So, the few close friends I have are from college, cricket, and my earlier shows. Sharing the same passion and profession often brings people closer, and that’s exactly what cricket did for us. I really cherish spending time with them on and off the field it’s my idea of a perfect day.”
When it comes to forming new bonds in the industry, Anupam Bhattacharya admits it’s a challenge. “I can’t make new friends now, even though I view all my colleagues as potential friends. Sadly, those connections rarely move beyond a professional level. I wish things were different,” he adds.
Nostalgia and WhatsApp – Staying in Touch with Childhood Friends
Anupam Bhattacharya emphasizes that his strongest bonds remain with his childhood friends.
“College friends are your best buddies, and school friends are even better you should never lose touch with these gems,” Anupam Bhattacharya says, adding, “Even though we don’t meet often, we stay connected through a WhatsApp group of school and neighbourhood friends from Delhi. It feels amazing to relive our childhood through our banter.”
