Celebrity chef and television personality Harpal Singh Sokhi, best known for his infectious energy and signature phrase “Namak Shamak,” is all set to return with the third season of the popular celebrity cookery show Laughter Chefs. As he prepares to bring more flavor and fun to the screen, Chef Harpal recently shared his heartfelt thoughts on an interesting topic, the charm of autographs versus selfies in today’s digital age.
While the world has embraced selfies as a way to capture memories instantly, Chef Harpal believes that autographs still hold a deeper emotional value. “I think autographs are always special. They are something that is cherished by people and kept by people. They are collectables for many,” he said, recalling how some fans still preserve autograph books filled with their favorite celebrities’ signatures. “I have seen people collect autographs and bind them up to make an autograph book. A book always holds a special place in one’s library,” he added fondly.
However, the chef acknowledges the undeniable influence of technology and how it has transformed fan interactions. “Selfies are, of course, replacing the world because as technology keeps moving ahead, you will have new things coming up, and they will keep changing,” he explained.
He added, “Ever since the evolution of selfies happened, people also cherish the moments of being personally close and clicking pictures with us. So it is just a pure technology shift. But, you know, I think an autograph is always something that is more cherished by fans.”
As he returns to television with Laughter Chefs Season 3, Chef Harpal continues to balance nostalgia with modernity, just like his cooking, which blends tradition with a touch of contemporary flair.
