The makers of Border 2 have unveiled the first look poster of actor Diljit Dosanjh, introducing his role as an Indian Air Force officer in the upcoming film. The poster shows Dosanjh seated in a fighter jet, wearing the uniform of an Air Force pilot, with a determined expression that reflects the character’s focus and responsibility.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film will be released in cinemas on January 23, 2026

The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is scheduled to release in cinemas on 23 January 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films.
The poster marks an expansion of the Border narrative. While the original 1997 film centered on the Indian Army during the Battle of Longewala, the sequel will also highlight the role of the Indian Air Force. This inclusion signals that the story will extend beyond ground combat to depict aerial operations, adding another dimension to the portrayal of military service.
Along with Dosanjh, the cast includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa. The release of Dosanjh’s poster follows earlier promotional material featuring Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan. Each reveal has introduced a different aspect of the film’s focus on the armed forces, gradually building anticipation for its depiction of both land and air defense.
With its scheduled release in January 2026, Border 2 aims to continue the legacy of J.P. Dutta’s original film by presenting stories of service and sacrifice.
