Harpal Singh Sokhi Expands Karigiri to Chandigarh with Big Growth Plans
A New Chapter in Punjab for Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi
Celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi is popular for his culinary skills and strong TV presence. Food lovers know him for his unique modern twist on traditional recipes. While he already owned 11 restaurants, he recently opened the 12th one in Chandigarh.
He said, “We are entering Punjab for the first time, and we chose Chandigarh because it is a major city, and we feel it is the perfect gateway to enter the Punjab market. From there, we plan to expand to other cities. All our other restaurants are in Delhi NCR. We started our journey about 4 years ago with our first restaurant in Noida Sector 51. Since then, we have opened around 8 restaurants in Delhi.”
From Delhi NCR to Nationwide Expansion
“Outside Delhi, we have restaurants in Bangalore, Indore, and Dehradun. Very soon, we are also launching in Jaipur, Kanpur, and Meerut. As mentioned, Chandigarh is launching soon, and in addition, we are expanding further in Hyderabad and Bangalore. By the end of this financial year, we aim to have around 20 restaurants up and running,” he added.
Talking about the launch of Karigiri in Chandigarh, he shared that it was launched with great pomp and show. He said, “The entire buzz of Chandigarh, including people from the Punjab film industry, was invited. Everyone enjoyed the launch and truly loved the delicacies we created for the event at the venue.”
“I’m sure many people who travel frequently between Chandigarh and Delhi, and who have dined at our Karigiri restaurant in Delhi, have always wanted Karigiri to come to Punjab. And what better place to launch than Chandigarh, as we believe it is a major metro city and the perfect gateway not only to Punjab but also to Haryana,” he added.
He believes since Chandigarh serves as the capital city of Haryana and Punjab and has twin cities Mohali and Panchkula, it gives them an opportunity to cater to a larger audience. He said, “To begin with, we have launched our restaurant in the main city of Chandigarh, in Sector 26. And in the coming time, we will also look at launching in Mohali and explore the potential to expand into Panchkula as well.”
