After four impactful years, Aishwarya Khare opens up about the heartfelt farewell to Bhagya Lakshmi and the lasting impression it left on her.
From personal growth to cherished friendships, she shares heartfelt insights about her journey as Lakshmi.
The popular family drama Bhagya Lakshmi, which was launched on Zee TV in August 2021, is nearing its end—and the news has left fans stunned. Loyal viewers had been hoping for a longer run, especially after recent buzz about a possible leap in the storyline. However, the show wrapped up its shoot last week after a successful four-year journey.
Aishwarya Khare, who won hearts as Lakshmi—the show’s titular character—opened up in an exclusive conversation with Downtown Mirror Weekly, reflecting on her time on the show, the abrupt ending, and how portraying the character helped her evolve both personally and professionally.
When asked how she felt when the official announcement was made about the show ending, Aishwarya shared an emotional yet balanced perspective. Aishwarya Khare said, “All good things come to an end is something that keeps me going. Although the show has ended, Lakshmi will always stay with me. I am a little sad but also really happy that I got to play Lakshmi, and the show was loved so much by people around the world. We are done with the shoot, but I am not sure about the off-air date.”
While the audience was still anticipating a leap that would take the story forward, the decision to wrap up the show came swiftly. Addressing the sudden change, Aishwarya Khare explained, “I am not really disheartened. I actually feel blessed to be a part of such an epic show and one of the longest-running ones for Balaji Telefilms, so it feels really good.”
Over the years, Lakshmi has become more than just a role—it’s been a journey of transformation for Aishwarya Khare herself. When asked whether portraying the character brought about any personal evolution, she reflected thoughtfully and said, “There have been times where I wished I could have been as strong and selfless as Lakshmi, and situations wherein I would think to myself, ‘I would never do this.’ So, I am taking a lot of learnings from this character.”
As she reminisced about her time on set, it was clear how much the experience meant to her—both personally and professionally.
“I’ve made some really good friends because of the show, for a lifetime. And as Lakshmi, I got to do so much in one character, which will just help me ahead in my career,” Aishwarya Khare said with gratitude.
Though the final week of shooting was packed with back-to-back schedules and tight deadlines, Aishwarya is optimistic about reconnecting with her co-stars before they move on to new projects. “We have all formed a great bond, and we will surely get together and celebrate once everyone is free or in town,” Aishwarya Khare concluded warmly.
As Bhagya Lakshmi prepares to say goodbye, Aishwarya Khare ’s words serve as a touching reminder of the deep connection actors can form with their characters, their team, and their audience.
