Ishita Dixit plays the character of Pari in Star Plus’ popular show Anupamaa. The young actress entered the show recently when the show took a generational leap. In a candid chat with Downtown Mirror Weekly, Ishita spoke at length about her experience shooting with Rupali Ganguly, her favorite person on set and more.
When asked about being a part of Anupamaa, Ishita said, “Initially, while I auditioned for the show, I wasn’t aware that it was for Anupamaa. But when I signed the contract I was quite thrilled that I will be a part of such a renowned project.”
Recalling her first encounter with Rupali Ganguly, Ishita said, “I was starstruck seeing her. I had my first scene with her and I was very nervous. I just didn’t want to mess up my lines, which I did (chuckles) but Rupali Ma’am was very supportive. I remember, I was sweating before the shot, but Rupali ma’am helped me get the tone of the scene and the way she made me feel comfortable is commendable. Within a minute or so, I calmed down and we had a nice scene together.”
“I share a nice bond with her. I call her Anu Maa offscreen as well,” she added.
When asked about her go-to person from the sets of the show, Ishita said, “Well, I have three people who are extremely close to me. They are Ansh, Maahi and Prem, played by Varun, Spreha and Shivam. Shivam and I are like buddies and we often catch up outside work as well. We kind of gel pretty well.”
We asked Ishita about who inspires her the most from the cast of Anupamaa which has such phenomenal seasoned actors. She said, “I really look up to Bapuji, Baa and Rupali ma’am. Bapuji is 80 plus years old but he is so enthusiastic about shooting. He is more energetic then all the youngsters on the show. Baa is a brilliant actress and Rupali ma’am for obvious reasons. They really inspire me to work harder.”
