Pandya Store fame Shrashti Maheshwari talks about resuming work after a short maternal break and talks about loosing 25kgs in a span of a very short time.
Shrashti Maheshwari is known for her impressive performances in TV shows like Thapki Pyaar Kii, Pandya Store and many others. The talented actress recently joined the cast of popular Sony SAB show Tenali Rama.
The actress was MIA as she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl recently.
Downtown Mirror Weekly got in touch with Shrashti Maheshwari and asked her about returning to television after a short gap due to her maternal break. She said, “It feels amazing to be back. However, I don’t consider it as a maternal break because I started working when my daughter was merely eight months old.
I have lost 25kgs in last three months. There’s this stereotype among people that after delivering a baby, woman put on a lot of weight. In my case, I believe I am more fit and in shape than what I was before delivering my daughter.”
We asked Shrashti Maheshwari if she faces mom guilt while she shoots for her projects, she said, “Of course, the mom-guilt never goes. However, I feel content because my in-laws and my parents are quite hands-on when it comes to taking care of my baby in my absence. Even my husband Karan is incredibly supportive and always willing to help.
They are all there for her when I am not around. I don’t require to hire nannies as I’m blessed with supportive people around me. Also, I always believe that babies learn the most from the elderly people. I feel satisfied that my baby is getting a beautiful upbringing in the presence of her grand parents.”
When asked about what is she looking for in terms of her next project, Shrashti Maheshwari said, “Well, I am not one of those actors who shy away from playing mothers or aunts or a character not my age. I feel, as an artist, one can’t get typecast and I am game for any such character provided it suffices the actress in me and gives me a platform to perform.”
