Aalisha Panwar is reportedly replacing Gauri Chitranshi as the female lead in the supernatural romance drama Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, which stars Gautam Vig in the male lead role. The original lead pair had been receiving a lot of appreciation from viewers, making the sudden replacement a surprising development. So, what led to this change?
Downtown Mirror Weekly has learned that the decision wasn’t creative but rather circumstantial. Gauri Chitranshi has been battling serious health issues for the past month and was recently hospitalised for four days.
In an exclusive conversation, Gauri Chitranshi opened up about her condition. She shared, “I haven’t been feeling well since March. My BP and sugar levels dropped significantly, and I suddenly felt extremely weak on set. A doctor was called and gave me injections, which helped for a bit, but the physical exertion was too much. I was also dealing with tonsillitis around March 22 and couldn’t speak. I’ve had tonsillitis before, but this time it didn’t go away. One of the antibiotics I was taking reacted badly, and because my body was already exhausted, it worsened everything. I collapsed again, and that’s when we discovered swelling in my stomach caused by an antibiotic reaction.”
Gauri Chitranshi continued, “I was hospitalised on April 11 and discharged just two days ago. Right now, I feel extremely weak—so much so that I can’t even get a glass of water without panting. I’m recovering at home, and my doctors have advised at least a week of complete rest.”
Thankfully, her family has been by her side. Gauri Chitranshi shared, “My brother and parents are here, and I honestly don’t know how I would’ve managed without them.”
When asked about being replaced, Gauri Chitranshi said, “I haven’t been officially informed. I have a doctor’s appointment on Saturday, and then I plan to speak with the production house. As of now, I have no information about the storyline or what lies ahead.”
