Aiman Kalia, who is currently seen in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, believes that having a good relationship with co-stars off-screen makes their on-screen chemistry much better. He says, “I truly believe that when actors bond off-screen, it improves their performances on-screen. If you don’t have a connection with your co-actor, it can affect your acting. When actors are comfortable with each other, their scenes feel more natural and impactful.”
Aiman Kalia compares acting to cricket, saying that regular practice is necessary to stay sharp. “An actor must work on their craft daily. Just like cricketers do net practice, actors need to keep improving their skills. If you stop practicing, you lose your touch, and performing becomes difficult. Regular imagination exercises and character-building activities help me stay in sync with my craft. Also, it’s important to try new roles and push creative boundaries to avoid becoming repetitive.”

For him, the best feeling as an actor comes from audience reactions. Aiman Kalia says, “My biggest achievement is when people watch me on screen and don’t recognise me — they only see the character. Recently, my friends couldn’t believe it was me playing Yash, which made me feel proud because I had completely transformed into that role.”
When it comes to personal preferences, Aiman Kalia enjoys science fiction and rom-coms over mainstream thrillers and love triangles. He says, “I know thrillers and love triangles are popular, but I personally love sci-fi and light-hearted rom-coms. Movies like Journey to the Mysterious Island and Jumanji take you into a fun, adventurous world, which I enjoy. I really miss the golden age of Bollywood comedy. Directors like Anees Bazmee and Priyadarshan created timeless, entertaining films. Today, Bollywood leans more towards action movies, but I still love good comedy.”
When asked if he feels typecasting is common in this industry, Aiman Kalia says, “If an actor performs well in a role, they keep getting similar offers. But every actor wants variety. To grow, one must explore different kinds of characters instead of repeating the same roles.”
Aiman Kalia is eager to play a dark, intense character, breaking away from his usual roles. “People often see me as the cute younger brother or school kid. But I’d love to play a negative character — something dark and intense. I want to prove that I can do much more than just the ‘chocolate boy’ roles.”
