From Aram Nagar Auditions to Her First Break – A Journey of Passion and Perseverance
For actress Chaitali Kohli it was a tough call when she decided to become an actress. Her father was always against her career choice. Sharing more on that Chaitali says, ‘My father is a very possessive man when it comes to his daughter. A very typical father who loves me a lot.
“He has always put my security above everything else. He never wanted me to choose a profession he felt was unstable. In many ways, he holds traditional values. Even today, he prefers that I avoid outfits he considers too bold or inappropriate. That’s simply how he views things. Over time, I’ve learned to understand his perspective. I love him deeply, and it’s hard for me to go against him.”

Chaitali Kohli has done her first play at the age of 6. And then her career started in year 2020.
2.5 Years of Auditions in Aram Nagar, Mumbai
Sharing more about her work, Chaitali Kohli says, “I auditioned consistently for two and a half years. During that time, I attended workshops, training sessions, and performed in black box presentations. I would travel to Aram Nagar in Mumbai with a list of casting calls and carry a bag packed with different outfits along with homemade food.”
I would finish all my auditions and come back home. And next day again the same routine. Post Covid I got my first break in a commercial. It was through a casting director, who had seen me come for auditions all the time.”
Inspired by Powerful Performers Like Rashika Apte and Shefali Shah
On asking about her career so far Chaitali Kohli shares an interesting trivia.” There are moments when I feel overwhelmed thinking about how far I’ve reached without being part of daily soaps. Also keeping in mind that I have a wide range of performances. It really feels like hard work pays. Your patience pays and your work is recognised. I’m looking at longer roles now which are performance based. Something like Radhika Apte in Sister Midnight, Shefali Shah in Darling. Impactful, sarcastic something serious and fun.”
