βMany comic films are being made. Itβs not true that comedy gets less screen time,β Hrishikesh Pandey says, addressing the misconception that the genre is fading. He adds, βLegends like Mehmood sir and Johny Lever had strong screen presence, and even today, there are shows that thrive purely on comedy. Itβs a genre that always finds its audience, no matter the trends.β
Despite his appreciation for comedy, Hrishikesh Pandey personally gravitates towards more intense narratives. He shares, βAlthough I feel comedy brings a sense of lightness and joy β it balances out the heaviness of intense roles and stories, I enjoy watching war films, historical dramas, and intense love stories. Romantic shows arenβt really my go-to as a viewer, but Iβd love to be a part of one.β
Beyond genre preferences, he highlights an often-overlooked element of on-screen performances: real-life rapport. βWhen actors share a strong bond off-screen, it naturally reflects on screen. Thereβs a level of ease and comfort that translates into more natural and believable performances,β Hrishikesh Pandey explains, adding, βAudiences can sense when two actors donβt gel well in real lifeβit affects the chemistry, no matter how talented they are.β
For Hrishikesh Pandey, whether it is making people laugh or moving them with emotion, the essence of good show lies in authenticity β both in storytelling and in the relationships behind the scenes.
