CID actor Hrishikesh Pandey feels that comedy continues a timeless genre, even in the era of thrillers and intense romantic dramas.
In a time when thrillers, murder mysteries, and dark romances dominate screens, CID actor Hrishikesh Pandey believes that comedy still holds its timeless charm. While newer genres constantly evolve, he feels that laughter will always have a loyal audience. He shares his thoughts on his viewing preferences, the enduring power of comedy, and the importance of real-life camaraderie on screen.

“Many comic films are being made. It’s not true that comedy gets less screen time,” Hrishikesh Pandey says, addressing the misconception that the genre is fading. He adds, “Legends like Mehmood sir and Johny Lever had strong screen presence, and even today, there are shows that thrive purely on comedy. It’s a genre that always finds its audience, no matter the trends.”
Despite his appreciation for comedy, Hrishikesh Pandey personally gravitates towards more intense narratives. He shares, “Although I feel comedy brings a sense of lightness and joy — it balances out the heaviness of intense roles and stories, I enjoy watching war films, historical dramas, and intense love stories. Romantic shows aren’t really my go-to as a viewer, but I’d love to be a part of one.”
Beyond genre preferences, he highlights an often-overlooked element of on-screen performances: real-life rapport. “When actors share a strong bond off-screen, it naturally reflects on screen. There’s a level of ease and comfort that translates into more natural and believable performances,” Hrishikesh Pandey explains, adding, “Audiences can sense when two actors don’t gel well in real life—it affects the chemistry, no matter how talented they are.”
For Hrishikesh Pandey, whether it is making people laugh or moving them with emotion, the essence of good show lies in authenticity — both in storytelling and in the relationships behind the scenes.
