Despite being a popular television personality and making several guest appearances on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show, the actor has repeatedly dismissed the idea of participating as a contestant. While Bigg Boss may not have appealed to him, reliable sources now suggest that Karan Patel is likely to be part of an upcoming reality show titled The 50.
A prominent and well-respected figure in the television industry, Karan Patel is best known for his iconic portrayal of Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Over the years, he has built a strong body of work in fiction with shows such as Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kesar, Kasamh Se, Karam Apnaa Apnaa, Kasturi, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. His performances have consistently earned him both popularity and critical acclaim.
Beyond scripted television, Karan has also tested his mettle in the non-fiction space. He has participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye 3, Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket, Survivor India, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, Khatra Khatra Khatra, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10, proving his versatility and competitive spirit.
The 50, produced by the makers of Bigg Boss, is being positioned as a large-scale reality format featuring 50 celebrity contestants. Unlike conventional reality shows, it is expected to focus heavily on strategy, alliances, and in-house gameplay rather than audience voting. Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has been roped in to promote the show, describing it as the “baap of all reality shows”.
