Actor Jahnavi Soni believes that comparison, more than circumstances, is at the heart of modern-day dissatisfaction. The Paro Sang Dev actor feels that despite comfort and stability, constantly measuring life against others’ success often steals joy and peace

Explaining why comparison fuels unhappiness, Jahnavi Soni says it’s a natural but harmful tendency. “When we as individuals compare ourselves to others, it’s bound to happen that we feel unhappy when we look at others’ success” she explains.

She also feels people frequently long for what they don’t have, instead of embracing their present reality. “There’s a strange cycle where comfort makes us restless, and too much movement makes us desire calm. It’s usually a sign of burnout or restlessness,” Jahnavi Soni notes, shedding light on emotional fatigue.

According to her, slowing down is key to understanding these feelings better. “Once you slow down, understand the reason behind that feeling, and practice gratitude, you start enjoying where you are instead of always wanting the opposite,” she shares.

Jahnavi Soni strongly advocates gratitude as a daily practice to cope with stress, even if it doesn’t eliminate problems entirely. “When you’re grateful, your problems don’t disappear, you just stop letting them define your entire day,” she says thoughtfully.

Sharing personal habits that help her stay grounded, Jahnavi Soni adds, “It can be something very simple, acknowledging one good moment before bed, expressing thanks to someone, or pausing for a few seconds to appreciate where you are.”

She concludes by reminding that consistency matters more than scale. “These small habits slowly shift your mindset from constant stress to quiet appreciation,” she signs off.
