Kanwar Dhillon, who plays Sachin Deshmukh, the beloved taxi driver in Udne Ki Aasha, is receiving immense love for his portrayal of the character. The show, produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary’s Rolling Tales Productions, has struck a chord with audiences, and Sachin has become one of the standout roles of Kanwar Dhillon‘s career.
Reflecting on his role, Kanwar Dhillon shares, “Sachin Deshmukh in Udne Ki Aasha is truly a rare character, and roles like his aren’t often written for male actors on television. It’s not every day that you come across a role that allows you to explore such depth, complexity, and raw emotions. I’m incredibly fortunate to have been given the chance to bring Sachin to life.”

Kanwar Dhillon adds, “After Pandya Store, I was eager for a role that would challenge me and push my boundaries as an actor. I wanted something that would let me showcase different shades of my performance, and when Udne Ki Aasha came my way, it felt like the perfect fit.
Sachin is layered, unpredictable, and full of nuances, making every scene a thrilling experience to perform. This role has undoubtedly been one of the most fulfilling of my career, and the audience’s love and appreciation make it even more special. It’s rare to get a character that stays with you beyond the screen, and Sachin Deshmukh is exactly that for me.”
Sachin’s character comes from a modest background, with a rough exterior and resistance to change — so how much does Kanwar Dhillon relate to him? “I don’t have to act as Sachin — I just have to be him because, in many ways, he reflects who I am in real life,” he answers.

Kanwar Dhillon adds, “Being born and raised in Mumbai, especially in Malad, I grew up surrounded by family and friends in a lively environment. It gave me the best of both worlds. A lot of Sachin’s one-liners and impactful dialogues come naturally to me — I often tweak the script and add my personal touch. Growing up in Mumbai, I’ve picked up local slang, and many of those additions are my personal contributions to the show.”
