Karan Wahi: I’ve Always Believed In Quality Over Quantity

Ever wondered why Karan Wahi always leaves the audience wanting more, no matter the screen time? That’s because the actor swears by quality over quantity — and believes in staying visible for all the right reasons.

After making a mark as a formidable talent in the industry, Karan seamlessly transitioned into the OTT space, proving once again that he’s not just here to stay, but to shine.

Most recently seen in Raisinghani VS Raisinghani opposite Jennifer Winget, Karan Wahi is content with the pace at which his career is evolving. “Like I’ve always said — it’s quality over quantity. That’s what truly resonates with me,” he shares with a smile.

Ask him about his OTT journey, and the actor, who dipped his toes into the digital world years ago with I Don’t Watch TV and Sacred Games, lights up. “Right from the start, apart from being an artist trying to establish himself, my goal has always been to explore variety.

OTT platforms give actors that freedom — the chance to play diverse roles in a shorter span, and then move on to something new. I’m genuinely enjoying this phase.”

Karan Wahi is one of the early trailblazers who helped pave the way for TV actors in the digital space. But he doesn’t sugarcoat the realities. “I don’t think it’s easier for any television actor to land roles they don’t deserve. Yes, being from TV does mean you already have a fanbase — and that keeps you relevant.

But unfortunately, television actors are often not given the credit they truly deserve. There’s a perception that we’re somehow ‘lesser’ actors, and I think that really needs to change.”

Karan Wahi adds, “That said, I do think opportunities are more equal now. You see influencers turning actors, television celebs headlining OTT projects, and vice versa. This cross-collaboration is exciting! But let’s be real — it’s not easy. You still have to prove yourself, every single time.”

In a world where being constantly visible is often mistaken for success, Karan Wahi stands out for letting his work speak — and resonate. And honestly? We’re here for it.
