Paridhi Sharma opens up about the life lessons that taught her kindness is an act of courage, not weakness.
The Haq actor shares how empathy and respect continue to guide her journey, both personally and professionally.
For Paridhi Sharma, kindness isn’t just a virtue, it’s power in its purest form. The Jodha Akbar actress, now seen in Haq alongside Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, believes that real strength lies not in dominance but in compassion. Shaped by her father’s example and early life experiences, she says kindness continues to guide how she lives, works, and connects with people.
“I think my father is the kindest person I have ever met,” she shares, adding, “He treats everyone with respect, no matter their background or privileges. One incident from my childhood has stayed with me forever. I was playing in the school playground when a small child fell into a sewage gutter during some repair work. The sewage was filthy, and the child was helpless. Without thinking twice, my father jumped in, rescued the child, and pulled him out safely. That moment shaped the way I view kindness, it’s not just words; it’s action, courage, and strength.”
Those childhood experiences shaped her sense of empathy and humility. She says, “True kindness requires immense inner strength. It’s not always visible, and people often underestimate it. But it is one of the greatest strengths a human being can have. Because of my father, I’ve always believed in treating everyone with respect, without discrimination or hierarchy. Respect is a basic need for every individual, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.”
Another turning point came during her school years, when she lost her first inter-school Hindi debate competition in 11th grade. She recalls, “I was young and felt humiliated. But the principal of my school called me into his office, celebrated my effort, and taught me that life isn’t just about winning. It’s about participation, trying your best, and showing character. That completely changed my perspective.”
Today, in an age of social media judgment and constant comparison, Paridhi believes those lessons are more relevant than ever. She says, “People face so much criticism while chasing their dreams. Practicing kindness has become even more important, you can’t only think about yourself. True character shows in how you treat others, especially when no one’s watching.”
Kindness, she says, is more than a moral principle, it’s the foundation of who she is, both on and off the screen. She says, “It shapes how I interact with people, how I approach life, and how I hope to inspire others. Kindness, in action and in attitude, is one of the most powerful forces we can exercise.”
