In the unpredictable world of television, even promising shows sometimes face an untimely end. One such show is Jamuniya, which is set to go off air less than two months after its debut.
The drama, which premiered on March 3, was expected to build momentum gradually — but unfortunately, its journey has been cut short. According to sources close to the production, the final episode is likely to air on April 19.
“Everyone on the team was stunned when we got the news,” shared a source associated with the show, adding, “We believed in the concept and felt it had strong potential for a long run. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the time needed to truly connect with viewers.
These days, audiences have countless options, and a show needs space to grow and find its footing. Wrapping it up this quickly felt abrupt. The shoot is complete, though we may return briefly for some patchwork if required.”
Jamuniya starred Aleya Ghosh and Rajat Verma as the lead pair, with notable performances from Anupama Solanki, Khushi Rajpoot, and Pratish Vora in pivotal roles.
The narrative centered on Jamuniya (Aleya Ghosh), a confident, independent young woman whose world turns upside down on her wedding day. Humiliated by her mother-in-law in front of guests solely for the color of her skin, Jamuniya is suddenly shackled by age-old prejudices. Despite the cruel treatment, she refuses to break.

Instead, she begins a powerful journey of reclaiming her dignity, challenging bias, and rising as a resilient, self-assured woman in a household that once tried to diminish her worth. The show aimed to spotlight social stigma around skin tone while telling a story of strength, identity, and resistance.
Aleya has also been part of Karn Sangini and Ishq Ki Dastaan – Naagmani, while Anupama has featured in shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Dayan, Vighnaharta Ganesha, Maddam Sir, Bindiya Sarkar, Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai and Nath – Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani.
