The devastating plane crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has become a solemn reminder of how fragile and unpredictable life can be. The chartered aircraft carrying him and four others crashed near Baramati in Pune district during an approach to land, killing all on board. Pawar was a veteran political leader with decades of service in Maharashtra’s public life.

Parleen Gill, known for his journey from Indian Idol 3 to artistic pursuits, shared her reflections on the tragedy and its emotional impact. He said, “Events like these force us to stop and truly reflect. In that moment, everything else seems insignificant. We think about life, what matters most, and how unpredictable our time here really is.” Gill added that while people often return to their daily routines after such shocks, the brief pause can plant a lasting awareness in those who choose to live more intentionally.
Asked whether sudden departures make us rethink how we live, Parleen Gill observed: “We tend to live as if time is guaranteed, always chasing future milestones and postponing joy and presence. Situations like this remind us that none of that is certain. If we learn to be fully present in the moment, life naturally becomes richer and more meaningful.”

Parleen Gill also emphasised the importance of legacy over material success:
“Fame, money, and accolades are temporary. What truly lives on is how we treated others, the values we stood for, and the positive impact we made in people’s lives. Tragedies remind us that legacy is about emotional and human contribution, not accumulation.”
