Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! actor Saanand Verma voices concern over how constant exposure to negative news is damaging people’s mental well-being.
He urges a shift toward positivity, gratitude, and values that uplift society.
Saanand Verma, best known for Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! and films like Babli Bouncer, Pataakha, Vijay 69, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan, and the web series First Copy, believes that the relentless stream of bad news is doing more harm than good.
“In today’s world, we’re constantly bombarded with negative news tragedies, accidents, mob violence, cruelty toward humans and animals,” Saanand Verma says, adding, “This nonstop exposure impacts our mental health. It creates stress, anxiety, and a sense of helplessness.”

Saanand Verma feels that while awareness should ideally empower people to live more consciously, it often leaves them emotionally burdened. He says, “Most people can’t do anything about what they see. They may talk about it at the dinner table or with friends, but the helplessness they feel quickly turns into frustration and negativity.”
The actor also highlights a broader issue: information overload. “We’re being hit with data like an endless explosion. Instead of making us informed, it’s making us anxious,” Saanand Verma says, adding, “What we need is a reset to focus on gratitude, humility, and solid values.”
For Saanand Verma, the way forward lies in conscious, constructive living. “Let’s talk more about peace, kindness, cleanliness, and raising our standards not just materially, but as human beings. Humanity should always come first,” he concludes.
