Pardeep Singh Toor opens up about his role as Sunny in Tu Juliet Jatt Di, calling the show a refreshing celebration of Punjabi youth and culture.
From an intriguing title to a relatable character, he shares what drew him to the project and how naturally the role came to him.
After creating a strong presence in Punjabi television with shows like Tedha Medha Sadda Vedha and Dildariyan, Pardeep Singh Toor made a successful shift to Hindi TV through the popular daily soap Kumkum Bhagya. He is now seen as Sunny in Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey’s Tu Juliet Jatt Di, produced under their banner, Dreamiyata Entertainment. According to him, the show stands out for its freshness, vibrancy, and the unmistakable charm of Punjabi storytelling.

Speaking about what initially attracted him to the project, he shared, “It was the title that grabbed my attention even more than the story. Tu Juliet Jatt Di felt fresh and intriguing, it instantly sparked my curiosity and made me want to explore the vibrant world the show promised, filled with Punjabi spirit and youthful energy.”
He added, “Beyond the title, the script is a young, colorful narrative infused with rich Punjabiyat. It celebrates the culture through its humor, warmth, and passion, making it an authentic and refreshing take on romance. From the start, I was drawn to the freshness of the story and its lively characters, which made this project something I genuinely wanted to be part of.”
Pardeep revealed that he relates to his character Sunny in some ways, but not entirely. “Like me, Sunny is ambitious, independent, and an ambivert. I’m also fun-loving, but he is more mature, reserved, and business-minded,” he said.
“While we share traits like independence and balance in social settings, Sunny is more serious and focused. And yes, I’m very much a mama’s boy, which adds a personal touch to how I connect with the role,” he added with a smile.
When asked about his preparation, he shared, “The process was quite simple because both the character and the culture felt very natural to me. The preparation helped me fine-tune my performance, but overall, it was a smooth experience given my background and my connection to the role.”
