After stirring a hornet’s nest by calling Virat Kohli and his fans “jokers” — and joking about being blocked over an Instagram glitch — Rahul Vaidya has now reacted to cricketer Krunal Pandya unfollowing him.
Singer and reality show personality Rahul Vaidya has landed in the middle of a social media storm after referring to cricketer Virat Kohli and his fans as “jokers.” His remark quickly went viral, sparking backlash from fans and responses from public figures. Shortly after, reports emerged that Indian cricketers Yuzvendra Chahal and Krunal Pandya (Hardik Pandya’s brother) had unfollowed Rahul on social media.
When asked about it, Rahul Vaidya appeared unfazed. “I didn’t even know they were following me,” he said, indicating that their actions didn’t matter much to him.
The controversy began when Virat Kohli liked a bold photo of actress Avneet Kaur on Instagram, which was widely reshared by fans. This lsparked speculation about possible trouble in Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s marriage. However, Virat promptly addressed the situation and issued a statement clarifying that the like was accidental and caused by an Instagram algorithm glitch.
Rahul Vaidya, however, wasn’t convinced. He mocked the explanation by posting a humorous video, sarcastically suggesting that perhaps it was Instagram algorithm that blocked him on Virat’s behalf. “Instagram must have told Virat, ‘Let me block Rahul Vaidya for you,’” he joked.
While Virat Kohli has remained silent on the issue, his brother Vikas Kohli came to his defense. Taking to social media, Vikas slammed Rahul, saying, “If this kid put as much effort into his singing as he does into trying to get famous using Virat’s name, maybe he’d achieve something. While the country is focused on serious matters, this guy is busy chasing followers. What a loser.”
The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with fans divided — some applaud Rahul for speaking up, while others accuse him of seeking attention through controversy.
