Sony Entertainment Television’s much-anticipated horror show Aami Dakini has been undergoing multiple changes since the release of its initial promo. The channel has pinned great hopes on the show, as it is an attempt to carry forward the legacy created by the iconic Aahat.
Originally featuring Sheen Dass and Rohit Chandel in leading roles, the project, which was scheduled to launch on February 24, has taken a few unexpected turns. While Sheen’s contract is still in the works and expected to be finalised soon, Rohit Chandel has decided to step away from the project. Despite his excitement for every new show, the Kashibai Bajirao Ballal actor shared, “I always feel excited when I take on a new show, but right now, I don’t want to say much about Aami Dakini. What I can tell you is that I have more opportunities ahead, and this feels like the best decision.”

When we informed him the show’s cast has yet to be finalised, Rohit Chandel surprised us by revealing that he had filmed for the series for a month in Kolkata. “I’m not sure whether the show will continue with new actors or not,” he explained, adding, “But I did shoot for about a month in Kolkata. I can’t comment on what will happen with the episodes I shot, though. I was scheduled for 130-150 episodes and had planned to shoot for three to four months. I’ve already given that time and honoured my part of the agreement with the channel and production house. No regrets, though. It’s just part of an actor’s life, and now it’s time for me to explore new opportunities.”
As for whether we will see a glimpse of his track in the final version of Aami Dakini, he is uncertain. “I don’t think so. We shot seven or eight long episodes, but I’m not sure what happened with them. That’s a matter for the channel and production to figure out,” Rohit Chandel added.
Though one project may not have gone as expected, Rohit Chandel is already looking forward to his next venture. We wish him the best of luck as he embarks on his next exciting opportunity.
