In Sankalp, Roop Durgapal plays Madhuri, the wife of the character portrayed by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
Speaking about her co-actor, she praised Zeeshan’s dedication and craft. Coming from the prestigious National School of Drama background and having extensive experience in films and web series, Zeeshan’s approach to scenes, language, and performance created a productive learning environment on set.
Roop said his energy and disciplined method of performing helped make their scenes together even more engaging.
From Television to Theatre and OTT
Interestingly, Roop’s OTT debut came later in her career. The actress revealed that until 2019 she had not seriously considered moving beyond television.
However, the global impact of COVID-19 pandemic changed her perspective on life and career choices.
The uncertainty of the period inspired her to experiment creatively, which led her to explore theatre. Initially, performing on stage without retakes felt intimidating, but the experience turned out to be deeply rewarding and helped build her confidence as an actor.
