Sachin Kavetham opens up about his willingness to undergo physical transformations for roles and the discipline acting demands.
The actor also sheds light on why dedication, not glamour, defines success in the industry.
At a time when audiences are increasingly drawn to authenticity on screen, Sachin Kavetham, who has been part of films like Single Salma and Full Plate, stands out for his honest and grounded approach to acting. Currently focused on his professional journey and consistently working toward challenging roles, the actor believes that commitment to a character goes far beyond dialogue and screen presence. For him, acting is not about comfort, it’s about responsibility.
When asked whether he would ever undergo an extreme physical transformation for a role, Sachin answered without hesitation. Speaking with clarity and confidence, he made it clear that his loyalty lies with the character above everything else. “If a role demands it? Of course, I’ll do whatever my character demands. I can. I wouldn’t do some bullshit things. But if my character demands me to act like someone who is crippled or maybe someone who is physically a little deformed,” he said, underlining his belief in truthful portrayal rather than superficial gimmicks.
Expanding on his willingness to adapt physically, Sachin added that appearance is simply part of the job. “If my character needs a bald look, I will do that. It is the character’s demand. And since I’m an actor, I’m supposed to do that. That’s my work. And if I wouldn’t do that, then why am I in the business?” he remarked, reinforcing his no-excuses attitude toward his craft.
Addressing the common misconception that acting is an easy profession, Sachin opened up about the relentless pace actors maintain daily. “You are working every day. At the same time, if you get any audition, you have to shoot that as well,” he explained. He went on to point out that auditions often demand additional preparation, such as dance videos or specific performances.
Drawing examples from industry stalwarts, Sachin added, “Just look at big actors like Shah Rukh Khan sir or Vicky Kaushal. They are working day and night, giving interviews, working on their physique, and doing so many things. To have that sort of dedication every day, it’s an everyday job.”
