Samridhii Shukla shares the challenges of her demanding shooting schedule and how she prioritises self-care to stay grounded.
She highlights how maintaining mental health is just as crucial as pursuing success in the entertainment world.
Samridhii Shukla, famous for portraying Abhira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shares an honest look at the demands and challenges faced off-camera. Contrary to the glamorous image fans often see, Samridhii reveals that the demanding schedule, mental strain, and pressure to constantly perform can be overwhelming.
“The schedule can be exhausting, and there are days when fatigue hits hard,” Samridhii shared, adding, “People see the glamour on-screen, but what they don’t see are the ten to twelve-hour shoot days, the early morning call times, or the endless retakes. While fulfilling, it can quickly exhaust you if you don’t take care.”
Yet, amidst the chaos, what keeps her going is the spirit on set. She said, “The camaraderie of the team and the fact that we are telling a story people connect with, that makes everything worthwhile. Even when I’m tired, the love of the audience reminds me why I chose this career.”
Time With My Close Friends Is Very Healing For Me
Samridhii Shukla has created her own set of self-care habits to handle the stresses of everyday shooting. She said, “I make it a point to take small breaks. Sometimes I meditate, sometimes I just sit quietly without my phone, or I’ll play music and switch off for a while. Even if they’re short, these moments play a big role in helping me stay calm and grounded.”
When she’s away from the sets, she leans on simple joys to recharge. “I love curling up with a book, going for long walks, or just having a heart-to-heart chat with my family. Time with my close friends is very healing for me,” she revealed.
Self-care Isn’t A Luxury-It’s Survival In This Industry
For Samridhii Shukla, self-care isn’t an afterthought, it’s a necessity.
“Self-care isn’t a luxury-it’s survival in this industry. Even fifteen minutes of silence, a power nap, or just sitting on the balcony with a cup of chai can completely change your energy,” she emphasized.
The young actress believes this balance is what helps her give her best on-screen while still protecting her mental and emotional health. “I strive to grow not just in my craft, but also on a personal level. For me, both matter equally. Ambition is important, but so is peace of mind. If you lose that, nothing else feels enough,” Samridhii Shukla concluded.
