Shivangi Verma, known for her roles in Choti Sarrdaarni, Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, and currently seen in the web series Yeh Hai Sanak, recently opened up about her views on mental health and how she finds balance amidst the demands of the entertainment industry. On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, she shared insights into how she manages emotional well-being in a high-pressure career.
“World Mental Health Day, for me, is a reminder to pause and reflect on myself,” says Shivangi, adding, “People often talk about physical fitness but tend to forget what lies beneath the surface mental health. I feel this day is something everyone should take seriously.”
As an actor, she emphasizes the importance of maintaining inner peace. She explains, “The industry is extremely demanding, both emotionally and mentally. I make it a point to prioritise my mental health. I don’t let work consume me. I love spending time with my family and loved ones, and most importantly, I take breaks when needed. These may seem like small things, but setting such boundaries is essential.”
Shivangi also highlights the need for open dialogue within the industry. “Open conversations are powerful. When actors share their mental health journeys, it helps the audience realise that we too face similar struggles. It normalises the topic,” she adds.
“As public figures, we should openly talk about our struggles. Fans should know that we face the same issues they do. Sharing these stories helps people feel less alone,” she concludes.
