Shivangi Verma Welcomes SC Ruling: Dogs Deserve Dignity And Safety

Shivangi Verma praises the Supreme Court’s humane decision requiring stray dogs to be sterilised and vaccinated prior to being released back to their natural habitats.

She applauds the verdict as a vital stride toward a safer and more humane coexistence between humans and animals.

Shivangi Verma, set to share the screen with Sharad Malhotra in an upcoming web series, is not just admired for her acting prowess but also for her deep empathy toward animals, especially dogs.

Shivangi Verma hopes the Supreme Court’s ruling will inspire more citizens

On the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to vaccinate and sterilise street dogs before releasing them to their neighbourhoods, championing a balance between public safety and animal welfare, she expresses genuine praise.

This is an excellent step forward

Shivangi Verma says,

“This is an excellent step forward. It was a movement from all over India which increased the concern and highlighted the issue. Dogs are sentient creatures who feel deeply and deserve to be treated with respect and protected. The Supreme Court’s ruling acknowledges the importance of both safeguarding public health and upholding the rights and dignity of animals.”

Shivangi Verma believes India’s rich cultural and spiritual bond with animals must translate to compassionate action. While many people lovingly care for pets, she observes that stray dogs are all too often ignored or mistreated.

She hopes this verdict, a mandate to vaccinate and allow strays to remain where they belong, sets the tone for a more humane coexistence.

She also appreciates the tireless dedication of animal rights advocates and nonprofit organisations. Shivangi Verma says,

“It is heartening to see that voices from across the country came together for this cause. It was not just about animal lovers but also about ordinary citizens who wanted a humane and practical solution. The Court’s decision acknowledges both concerns, the need for public health safety through vaccinations, and the right of dogs to live without being displaced or harmed.”

A devoted dog lover, Shivangi Verma often feeds strays in her neighbourhood, calling them part of the community, sometimes even like family.

She hopes the Supreme Court’s ruling will inspire more citizens to treat stray animals with empathy rather than fear or indifference.
