His memorable performance in Yamla Pagla Deewana earned him the 7th Amrish Puri Award for Excellence in Acting—an honor that reflected his depth and dedication as an actor.

Mukul Dev, born in New Delhi, began his acting journey with the television serial Mumkin in 1996, where he played the role of Vijay Pandey. Mukul soon charmed audiences with his wit and screen presence in Doordarshan’s popular Bollywood countdown comedy show Ek Se Badh Kar Ek. Over the years, he carved a niche for himself in the film industry with notable roles in movies such as Qila (1998), Wajood (1998), Kohram (1999), and Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao (2001), among many others.
