Thunderbolts Trailer Hints Redemption, Regret and a World Without Heroes

Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts final teaser has been released, providing a fascinating look at the tumultuous world the Mighty Avengers left behind. Mel, played by Geraldine Viswanathan, rightly observes that the time of Earth’s greatest heroes seems like a faraway past.

Instead, there is a group of anti-heroes chosen by the mysterious Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to carry out a mission that no hero could defeat. However, as the just-released final trailer makes clear, this is a group of outcasts battling their questionable pasts and a deep sense of insecurity.

“There’s no greater calling than being the hero. During intense moments deleted from 2021’s Black Widow, David Harbour’s Alexei, also known as Red Guardian,” shares Florence Pugh’s Yelena about her adopted sister and predecessor, Natasha. ”

sister understood something about that,” he says. “No, that’s just a fairy tale,” she responds. As a Red Room-trained assassin with a regrettable past, Yelena shares the same red in her ledger as her sister did.

The Thunderbolts—Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, John Walker, Ghost and Taskmaster—are a diverse bunch of anti-heroes with blood on their hands, in contrast to the original Avengers, who were bound together by a shared foe. This contrast is shown in the teaser, which also highlights Yelena’s claim that they are not heroes. “This is not possible. Yelena declares, “No one here is a hero,” as the city is enveloped in the darkness of the Void and footage shows the Thunderbolts as heroes. “We cannot stop him by ourselves. Nobody can. We can, however, find a way. Together.”

Despite the exciting new video, the teaser mostly hides Lewis Pullman’s character, the Void, in favor of highlighting his destructive alter ego. Anticipation for the character’s complete significance in the story is increased by this calculated disclosure. The question still stands: will these anti-heroes destroy themselves, or will they find atonement and transform into something more without the Avengers as they face their pasts and the terrifying danger of the Void?

Marvel’s Thunderbolts, which is directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Beef) and produced by Kevin Feige (Deadpool & Wolverine), is scheduled to release in theaters in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu one day early on May 1.
