For actress Soma Rathod, who currently stars in Tumm Se Tumm Tak, fan love is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist. Known for her warm and relatable performances, Soma believes that connecting with fans, whether through selfies or conversations, keeps her grounded and grateful.
Talking about how interactions with fans have evolved, Soma shared, “Earlier, autographs were very popular because people didn’t have phones or the technology we do today. I actually love this change. A selfie captures the moment forever, and fans can keep it with them for a lifetime. It’s a beautiful way to preserve memories.”
She enjoys being approached by admirers and always makes time for them, no matter how hectic her schedule. She said, “I completely respect my fans’ emotions. I love clicking pictures with them because this is what every artist dreams of, to be loved and recognized. Whenever someone approaches me politely, I make sure to give them that moment, no matter how busy I am.”
Recalling her most emotional fan encounters, Soma said, “Once, while I was at Shirdi for darshan, a lady recognized me and called her husband. He was battling cancer, and she said Jijaji Chhat Par Hai gave him relief from his pain. That moment really touched me.”
She continued, “Another time, a fan told me his paralysed grandmother began recovering after watching Tumm Se Tumm Tak. And I’ll never forget a fan who once texted that he was deeply affected when *Lapataganj* went off air, he had been messaging me since 2014–15. These moments remind me of how deeply our work connects with people.”
Soma says such heartfelt encounters make her grateful for her journey. “To know that your performance can impact someone’s life or bring them relief during tough times is beyond words. It makes every struggle worthwhile,” she concluded with a smile.
