While several names are being speculated to join the cast of Jhanak, which is set to take a 20-year leap, we have learned that Twinkle Arora has officially joined the family drama. Rhea Sharma has also been finalized to play the protagonist.
Big changes are on the horizon for the popular Star Plus show Jhanak, which is gearing up for a 20-year leap that promises a completely new storyline and cast shake-up.
Amid swirling rumours about fresh faces joining the drama, Downtown Mirror Weekly has learned that Udaariyaan fame Twinkle Arora has been roped in as one of the new female leads. She will be seen alongside Rhea Sharma, popular for her portrayal of Mishti in Director’s Kut Production’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, in taking the story forward after the leap. So, as reported, Erica Fernandes isn’t part of the show.
A source close to the production revealed, “Yes, after evaluating several options, the team finalised Twinkle Arora. She fits the role perfectly and brings the right energy for the narrative ahead. We also tried to finalise Shakti Arora for the new male lead, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out due to creative differences.”
Meanwhile, Arjit Taneja has been a strong contender for the male lead. However, he recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to shut down speculation, writing, “Guysss not doing any new show as of now. Don’t know where are all the articles coming from. Much Love.” Despite his statement, fans are still holding out hope for a surprise announcement.

Originally starring Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, Jhanak made a strong debut and quickly became a TRP favorite. However, a slump in ratings earlier this year led the makers to plan a leap in hopes of reigniting audience interest.
Weighing in on the reason for the decline in the ratings, Krushal in an exclusive chat with us, shared, “I think the decision to make the show 60 minutes long was, in itself, a huge one. Delivering 60 minutes of content every day, seven days a week, is incredibly demanding. Along with that, you need to ensure the content is engaging.”
With Twinkle Arora officially on board and more casting updates expected soon, anticipation is high for what this new chapter of Jhanak will bring.
