Armaan’s growing overprotectiveness toward Ruhi and their unborn child begins to strain his bond with Abhira. As love turns into control, emotional tensions rise, threatening the harmony of their relationships.
Star Plus’ long-running and much-loved show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues to engage audiences with its emotionally charged storyline. The current storyline focuses on Armaan’s growing protectiveness over Ruhi and their unborn baby, Pookie. However, his well-intentioned concern is beginning to cross the line, creating strain within the family, especially between him and Abhira.
In a recently released promo, Abhira (played by Samridhii Shukla) is seen struggling with self-doubt about her ability to be a good mother. She confides in Kaveri, sharing her anxiety over Armaan’s (Rohit Purohit) increasingly possessive and controlling behavior regarding the baby, which leaves her feeling uncertain and overwhelmed.
Upcoming episodes will delve deeper into how Armaan’s protectiveness, though rooted in love, becomes stifling. During a peaceful yoga session shared by Abhira and Ruhi, Armaan repeatedly interrupts to check on Ruhi’s condition, causing unnecessary stress. When AB gifts Ruhi a beautiful dress that makes her emotional and happy, Armaan abruptly takes it away, insisting she wear simple, “safe” clothes for the baby’s well-being.
Even when Ruhi feels exhausted, Armaan pressures her into undergoing more medical tests. Abhira gently tries to reason with him, but Armaan remains firm, justifying his actions by citing past traumas. His behaviour clearly shows a lack of trust in Ruhi’s instincts and decisions.
Heartbroken, Abhira quietly yearns for the compassionate and understanding Armaan she once cherished. Meanwhile, Armaan remains haunted by past losses and is determined to prioritise Pookie’s safety above all else. This contrast in their emotional approaches highlights the growing rift between them.
For Abhira, love is about trust, support, and tenderness, while Armaan’s love is currently driven by fear, leading to control and pressure. Though both have their loved ones’ best interests at heart, their conflicting methods are beginning to clash—setting the stage for more emotional turmoil and heartbreak in the episodes ahead.
