Shivangi Verma on Fame, Identity, and Staying Grounded in the Entertainment Industry
From Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor to Choti Sarrdaarni: Her Acting Journey
For Shivangi Verma who is known for her performance in shows like Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor and Choti Sarrdaarni and web series like Yeh Hai Sanak and Hasratein 3, navigating fame is all about balance — between the person the world sees and the one she truly is. “It’s like having two different wardrobes,” she says, explaining how she separates her public and private life.

“There’s the ‘public’ Shivangi Verma who’s always on, dressed up and smiling, and then there’s the real me who just wants to be in pajamas with zero makeup,” she adds. She shares that maintaining this boundary is essential to staying grounded. “If you start believing your own hype, you lose the person who actually earned that success,” she says.
Shivangi Verma admits that people often confuse her on-screen characters with her real personality. “All the time,” she says with a laugh, adding that audiences sometimes expect her to behave exactly like the roles she plays. “They forget that what they see on screen is a script, not my soul,” she says. While it can be frustrating, she chooses to look at it positively. “It just means I’ve done my job well as an actor,” she adds.
How Fame Changed Shivangi Verma’s Perspective
Talking about how fame has impacted her, Shivangi Verma says it hasn’t changed who she is, but it has changed how she sees the world. “I’ve become more observant,” she says, explaining that the experience has taught her the value of genuine relationships. She adds that she now holds her inner circle closer than ever. “My worth isn’t tied to a like count or a headline,” she says firmly.
In an industry where opinions shift quickly, she believes staying grounded is a conscious effort. “Public opinion is like the weather,” she says, adding that it can change anytime. She credits her family for keeping her rooted. “They don’t care about my Instagram stats; they keep me real,” Shivangi Verma adds.
She also emphasizes the importance of taking breaks. “Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I step away,” she says, sharing that she often escapes to Goa to recharge.
Summing up her biggest learning, Shivangi Verma says, “Don’t take anything personally.” She adds, “If you’re happy with who you are, you’ve already won.”
