Chhaava has managed to become a box office hit and while Vicky Kaushal has done a phenomenal job with his character, it is clear that the historical epic is making history and how. The India net collections for Chhaava have been phenomenal, and now, the movie has achieved another big feat by surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal as well as SRK’s Pathaan.
The movie now has a domestic box office collection of Rs 554.75 crore, while Animal did Rs 553.87 crore and Pathaan did Rs 543.09 crore. What makes Chhaava’s success a standout it also how the movie earned a good reputation with just the good reviews and of course, Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s fans, among other things.
Laxman Utekar has done a phenomenal job with this movie as he brought to life, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s journey, while also paying tribute to and celebrating Indian history. While both Animal as well as Pathaan had their own selling points and both the movies did open up to quite polarising reviews as well, Chhaava has been a remarkable film in every way, and the big box office numbers are proof.

While the movie continues to do well at the Indian box office, the movie has done well on a whole too, as it currently has a worldwide gross collection of Rs 741 crore.
As for Chhaava, apart from Vicky Kaushal, the movie also features Akshaye Khanna, and Viineet Kumar Siingh, among others. What made the movie a hit was not just Vicky’s performance alone, but it was also the screenplay, a solid second half, the battle scenes that were as intriguing as ever, and of course, the cinematography and how well it looked for a period drama.
Chhaava’s box office numbers are proof that a film’s appeal is beyond how cool it is or whether or not it aligns with today’s generation — a good movie, will be a good movie.
