“If We Can’t Breathe Clean Air, No Amount of Progress Matters”: Eijaz Khan Urges Real Action On World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, actor Eijaz Khan speaks out on the urgent need for climate action, drawing from personal experiences and daily choices. He calls for collective responsibility and the power of celebrity influence in driving meaningful environmental change.

With projects like Jawan, City of Dreams, Adhrishyam, and Dhoom Dhaam to his credit, actor Eijaz Khan isn’t just making an impact on-screen—he’s also speaking up about the state of our planet on World Environment Day. “It’s a harsh reality—global warming.

The climate has shifted, and it’s impacting our lives in real-time,” Eijaz says, adding, “The seasons feel deregulated. And it’s not just discomfort—it affects our mood, health, and how we function daily.”

Drawing from his childhood, Eijaz Khan adds, “I spent my early years outdoors, playing football and cycling. These days, I often hesitate before going outside. That’s how severe the pollution problem has become. Children today are growing up indoors.”

For him, the solution lies in collective responsibility. Eijaz Khan says, “Builders, citizens, actors, government—everyone has a part to play. Construction norms, public transport, and planting trees instead of cutting them… it all needs to be part of the same conversation.”

Eijaz Khan also talks about real, day-to-day choices. He says, “I switch off electronics at night, reuse water, carry cloth bags, and avoid straws. Individually, they may not seem like much, but when combined, their impact can be powerful. My aim is to live simply and responsibly.”

When asked whether celebrity voices can drive impact, Eijaz Khan responds, “Fame comes with responsibility. People watch what we do. If we use our platform sincerely, we can influence real change. I believe in that.”

As India grapples with rising pollution levels and unpredictable weather, Eijaz Khan’s words are a timely reminder: change doesn’t need to be perfect—it needs to be consistent, and it needs to start now.
