As the holy month of Ramadan begins, Sara Arfeen Khan embraces it with deep devotion, mindfulness, and a sense of profound gratitude. For the Singham Again actress, Ramadan transcends the act of fasting; it is a sacred time for self-reflection, spiritual renewal, and a deepened connection with her faith. Amid the busyness of everyday life, she makes it a priority to pause, reflect on her blessings, and take stock of the lessons learned. She shares, “Ramadan has always been more than just a month of fasting for me; it’s a time of deep reflection, discipline, and connection… one that I strive to carry with me throughout the year.
I try to maintain the mindfulness that comes with fasting by being more conscious of my actions, my words, and even what I consume — whether it’s food, information, or energy. The spiritual connection that intensifies during Ramadan, through prayer and self-reflection, is something I consciously nurture beyond the month. It’s about continuing to grow and evolve, ensuring that my faith and personal growth are ever-developing. Giving back — whether through acts of kindness, supporting those in need, or simply being present for the people around me — remains a priority in my life. Ramadan acts as a reset, but its real essence is in how we carry its lessons forward, living with intention every day.”
For Sara, who was last seen on Bigg Boss 18, Ramadan offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with both her inner self and the divine. She says, “As the month approaches, I always feel an invisible shift, almost like an energetic cleansing where negativity fades, making space for something purer and more peaceful. It’s as if the soul prepares itself even before the month begins, letting go of what no longer serves and making room for renewed faith and clarity. The sense of gratitude that Ramadan instills stays with me, reminding me to appreciate even the smallest blessings in life.”
When asked about her most cherished memories from past Iftaar gatherings, Sara fondly reminisces, “One of my most cherished memories is the joy of Iftaar with family, especially now that my twins, Aisha and Zidane, are old enough to experience it with us. Though they don’t fast yet, their excitement over dates, fruits, and the ritual of breaking bread together fills my heart. There’s something incredibly special about seeing Ramadan through their eyes—their curiosity, joy, and the warmth of family coming together.
Every Iftaar feels like a celebration of love, unity, and togetherness, not just through food but through the people who make those moments so special. Each year, as we gather around the table, I’m reminded that Ramadan isn’t just about abstaining from food; it’s about filling our hearts, reconnecting with what truly matters, letting go of what we cannot control, and feeling the peace only this month can bring.”
In the spirit of togetherness, Sara has planned a special Iftaar gathering to celebrate the blessings of the holy month with her loved ones. She reveals, “I plan to host a special Iftaar gathering in mid-March, bringing close friends and loved ones together to celebrate the essence of Ramadan.”
