Director and choreographer Saurabh Prajapati opens up about his long-standing collaboration with singer Dhvani Bhanushali, having worked together on nearly 25 live concerts worldwide.
India’s youngest director and choreographer, Saurabh Prajapati, has collaborated with popular singer Dhvani Bhanushali on multiple occasions. Saurabh, who has played a key role in shaping her stage performances by choreographing and directing her concerts, spoke about being closely involved in Dhvani’s creative growth. He highlighted that her talent goes far beyond singing, noting her strong abilities as a performer and dancer as well.
Talking about their long-standing association, he said, “Dhvani and I have worked together on numerous occasions. We’ve already completed around 25 live shows, not just across India but internationally as well. With several upcoming performances on her schedule, we’re set to team up once again very soon.”
“I have directed and choreographed her live shows. The idea was to showcase her versatility. Much like her ability to switch effortlessly between musical styles, her performances also showcase a wide range of dance styles, each distinct from the other.. Her set includes romantic songs, slow numbers, sad songs, and high-energy dance tracks. Her dance performances reflect the same variety,” he added.
Sharing details about their forthcoming performances, Saurabh spoke about the amount of thought that goes into structuring Dhvani’s live shows. He mentioned that the concert opens on a high-impact note and explained that “the entire presentation, from the opening sequence to the overall mood of the show, has been carefully conceptualised and executed.”
Praising her work ethic, he described Dhvani as someone who is deeply committed to her craft. According to him, “she is constantly pushing herself to do better,” adding that her determination and consistency have helped her carve a strong identity in the music industry at a very young age.
He also touched upon the ease of their collaboration, sharing that being the same age has helped them connect better creatively. “We were both born in the same year, which naturally helps us understand each other’s working style,” he said, noting that they share a common goal of always giving the audience more than expected. Highlighting her success, he pointed out that two of her songs have crossed the one-billion mark on YouTube, calling it “an incredible achievement for someone so young.”
Emphasising trust as the foundation of any strong partnership, Saurabh said that when collaborators truly believe in each other and the process, the results speak for themselves. He described Dhvani as extremely encouraging and optimistic, adding that he always wishes her continued growth and success.
Hinting at future projects, he concluded by saying, “There’s a lot of exciting work coming up. I’ll definitely be sharing more very soon.”
