In an industry where bold scenes often define headlines and screen time, actress Indraxi Kanjilal, currently winning hearts as Prarthana in Pushpa Impossible, is refreshingly clear about her limits. The rising star believes in staying authentic to her values—even if it means turning down roles that cross a certain line.
I’m Not Comfortable with Bold or Intimate Scenes
When asked about her comfort level with bold or intimate scenes, Indraxi Kanjilal candidly shares, “As an actor, I’m not very comfortable doing bold or intimate scenes. I’m comfortable doing romantic scenes to a certain extent, but I have clear limits that I choose not to go beyond. If that line is being crossed, I’m simply not comfortable.”
She further explains that her discomfort isn’t about professionalism, but personal conviction. Indraxi Kanjilal says, “I’m not okay with very bold or highly intimate scenes—not at this stage of my life. I feel I’m too young for that. I also have a family. Of course, many actors who do such scenes have families too, but for me, it’s important that my parents can proudly watch my work.”
Even with romantic scenes, Indraxi Kanjilal admits to drawing clear boundaries. She says, “I know what makes me uncomfortable. If the romance goes too far, I begin to feel uneasy. Getting too close with a co-actor on screen can be very uncomfortable for me.”
That said, she remains committed to her craft. Indraxi Kanjilal says, “Of course, I still do romantic scenes professionally. I believe I perform them well. But internally, I do feel uneasy. That’s why I always set clear boundaries. I make it a point to communicate my boundaries clearly to both the team and my co-actor from the start.”
