Kashish Duggal Joins Doree Season 2 As Maan’s Emotionally Intense Mother

Kashish Duggal joins Doree Season 2 as Meera, an emotionally intense mother whose obsessive love for her son Maan blurs the line between care and control. Her return adds a powerful twist to the storyline, promising drama and depth.
The second season of Doree is gearing up for a dramatic twist with the entry of television actress Kashish Duggal. Last seen in Suhagan, Kashish will now take on the role of Meera, Maan’s (played by Ishaan Dhawan) emotionally charged and deeply complex mother.

Speaking about her character, Kashish Duggal reveals, “Meera is extremely protective, so much so that it borders on paranoia and hysteria. After enduring trauma, she becomes emotionally volatile, and her obsessive attachment to Maan turns dangerously intense. Her love becomes a force that blinds her to boundaries; she can’t distinguish where her son’s individuality begins. In her desperation to hold onto him, she may even unintentionally hurt herself or others.”
This marks Kashish Duggal’s return to television after a six-month break. “I had been working non-stop with shows like Aangan – Aapno Kaa and Suhaagan, right after Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. I consciously took a break to spend quality time with my family,” she shares.
Known for portraying motherly roles in recent years, she embraces the challenge of adding new dimensions to each character. When asked about the typecasting of senior actors on TV, Kashish Duggal admits, “Yes, television does tend to stereotype older actors.
But at the end of the day, it’s the actor’s choice. I have a 12-year-old in real life, yet I often play mothers to 25 or 30-year-olds on screen. I’ve accepted those roles because they’ve been layered and challenging, often with grey shades.”
Citing Anupamaa as an example, Kashish Duggal adds, “She’s a mother of three and still the lead. It’s all about your acceptance and how well you portray the character. I’m completely cool with it — it’s not about age, but how you own the role.”
