Prateik Chaudhary steps into the micro-series space with The Elite, taking on the role of a deeply layered character grappling with inner turmoil.
Prateik Chaudhary shares his experience of working on the show, the challenges on set, and the physical prep required for the role.
It was the convenience and growing popularity of micro-series that drew actor Prateik Chaudhary to take part in one. Known for his role in Tose Naina Milaike, the actor recently featured in a micro-series titled The Elite and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Micro-Series Appeal: Short, Intense, and Binge-Worthy
βMicro-series are trending these days because theyβre easily accessible on phones. Everyone uses smartphones and the internet now. Also, since itβs a micro-drama series with short episodes, it keeps the audience engaged and encourages binge-watching,β Prateik Chaudhary explains.
Speaking about the storyline, Prateik Chaudhary shares, βThe Elite was unique for me because the character I played was completely different from anything Iβve done before. I portrayed Virat Mehraβa rich, entitled brat who lives off his fatherβs money and bullies everyone, especially Kiara, a middle-class girl who got into college through a scholarship. Virat constantly mocks her. But all this arrogance is just a cover. Deep down, heβs broken due to years of mistreatment by his father. Their relationship is strained, and his father had a troubled marriage with his mother. Iβve never played such a layered character before, so portraying Virat was a great learning experience.β
Filming came with its fair share of hurdles. Prateik Chaudhary says, βYes, especially during the shoot at Thakur College for my introduction scene. The campus was completely open with no cooling, and under the heat, combined with makeup, styling products, and intense lighting, I was sweating profusely. But at the end of the day, itβs our job to finish the shoot, and thankfully, it all went smoothly,β he says.
A Complex Character with Hidden Wounds
To embody the role of Virat, Prateik also made sure to maintain a lean physique. βVirat is supposed to be around 23β24 years old, so I had to look lean. Not just for this series, but also because I have another big project coming up that also requires a fit look. So it all aligned perfectly,β Prateik Chaudhary says, adding, βI hope Iβve done justice to both projects. Iβm grateful to the universe and to God for the opportunities and success coming my way.β
