Every Single Day, Without Fail, I Get A Message From Him In The Afternoon — “Jevlis ka?” (Did you eat?) Chaitali Kohli Speaks About Her Definition Of Valentine’s Day

Actress Chaitali Kohli Valentine’s Day message

Actress and theatre artiste Chaitali Kohli, who has been a part of projects like Khauff, Crew, and Criminal Justice feels that Valentine’s Day should be the same every year. Chaitali has been married to Kawaldeep Kohli, a Sikh, for the last 16 years. They have 2 beautiful daughters. She feels a couple should take initiative to celebrate this special day of love. She says,”It’s Valentine’s Day, after all! It should remain the same, with the same excitement. If after such a long marriage I don’t get to enjoy one day the way we were when we first met, then what’s the point? It’s still about getting flowers, telling each other we love one another, and simply being together.”

What Valentine’s Day means to Chaitali Kohli

But with demanding shooting schedules, how do they make time to celebrate love, even on the busiest days? Chaitali Kohli says, ”Every single day, without fail, I get a message from him in the afternoon “Jevlis ka?” which means, “Did you eat?” That one message says everything for me. That gesture everyday makes me special and I know that he is thinking of me.”

Chaitali Kohli continues, “Apart from the afternoon message what he always does before leaving the house is kiss me. If we’re both at home, neither of us is allowed to leave without that even if I’m sleeping.”

As actors, romance is often part of their on-screen world. So how different is love in real life compared to what we see on screen? Chaitali Kohli shares,” Honestly, it’s not very different for me. I’m as dreamy as the characters you see on screen. He just follows my lead. We barely have time for each other — we’re always working, managing the house, and looking after the kids. But we make up for it by doing small things for each other every day. Often I have been asked if I ever mix up personal and professional life. I have never done that because while crafting a character, you can’t relate it to your personal life at all. There’s a huge difference — every character has a different way of expressing emotions, and that can’t be you.”

Chaitali Kohli talks about love and relationships

For Chaitali Kohli and her husband it has been a roller coaster journey as inter caste marriage was not so easy 16 years back. But it’s their individual effort which made their families agree. Chaitali has been a successful actor for the last 6 years having worked in some great content in films, ott and commercials.
