Yesha Harsora Reflects on Social Media Pressure After Anurag Dobhal’s Accident

Anurag Dobhal’s Accident Sparks Conversation on Digital Impact

Recently, famous YouTuber Anurag Dobhal, popularly known as UKO7, sustained severe injuries after his car crashed on the Delhi-Meerut expressway. While livestreaming, an emotional Anurag called it the “final ride” before his car crashed into a divider. Speaking on the incident, Jagadhatri actor Yesha Harsora stressed that the digital world has become a very powerful emotional space.

From Private Conversations to Public Emotions

Yesha Harsora said, “On one hand, it connects people and can make someone feel less alone because they see others sharing similar experiences. At the same time, anything shared online becomes instantly visible and accessible to all.

When someone is already facing a tough time, the pressure of staying online and chasing validation can make it even more overwhelming. So while social media can support people, it can also amplify pain if it’s not handled carefully.”

She believes earlier people confided in a few close people about their struggles and emotions, but now with social media everything is out there on public platforms.

Yesha Harsora said, “In some ways it is brave because speaking openly about struggles can help others feel understood. But at the same time, personal emotions sometimes become something people watch, react to, or even judge.”

“So vulnerability has definitely become more visible, but it has also become more complicated,” Yesha Harsora added.

Social Media: A Space for Connection and Pressure

Yesha Harsora understands that social media has created a space where people from across the world can instantly react to someone else’s life, opinions, or struggles, and it can affect people in different ways. She said, “When thousands of people are reacting to your life or your feelings, it can become very overwhelming. Instead of processing emotions quietly and privately, people sometimes feel like they are under constant observation. Such an atmosphere can make it even harder to cope with personal challenges.”

“The speed of how quickly things circulate now is almost unbelievable. A single moment can reach millions of people within minutes. While this can help spread awareness and start important conversations, it also means sensitive situations can become viral content before people fully understand what is happening. Sometimes that speed takes away empathy, which is something society really needs to hold on to,” Yesha Harsora added.

She feels everyone in the society has a role to play in creating a healthier and more responsible digital environment. Yesha Harsora said, “As individuals, we should be more mindful and compassionate about what we comment on or share.”

“Platforms also need to take responsibility by creating better safety systems and support mechanisms. And as a society, we must remember that every screen represents a real person with genuine emotions — only then can the digital space become healthier for everyone.,” Yesha Harsora ended.
