Actress Harleen Reikhi expresses heartfelt admiration for Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday, calling him an institution of humility, discipline, and timeless appeal.
She dreams of sharing the screen with him and draws inspiration from his work ethic and legacy.
Harleen Reikhi, currently seen as Gaumata in Kamdhenu Gaumata and Sudha Mami in Binddii, recently shared her admiration for the legendary Amitabh Bachchan on the occasion of his birthday.
Speaking fondly of the megastar, Harleen said, “The lesson I always take from Amitabh sir is being Amitabh Bachchan. He is not just an actor; he’s an institution. The biggest takeaway for me from his journey is to never hesitate in asking for work. We should always be confident and forward enough to say, ‘Please cast me, please see my potential for this character.’ That blend of confidence and humility is what defines him.”
Reminiscing about Bachchan’s iconic work, Harleen added, “Sholay is a benchmark, a legacy in itself. The way he portrayed that role was simply outstanding. And when it comes to Kaun Banega Crorepati, I truly feel the show is incomplete without him. His humour, warmth, and eloquence everything about his presence feels so natural and homely.”
Though she hasn’t met the megastar yet, Harleen hopes that moment isn’t far away. “I really want to shoot something with him, a film, a series, or even an ad. Fingers crossed, I hope it happens this year itself,” she smiled.
Admiring his energy and dedication even in his 80s, she added, “He’s super active doing films, ads, shows and still maintains the same passion. It’s the biggest lesson for all of us youngsters. Just look at him and learn. He values time deeply. I’ve heard that if his call time is 8 AM, he reaches by 7:45. That discipline and respect for work are what make him who he is.”
