Playing Shakti, Sati and Parvati Becomes a Blessed Experience for Ashmita Bakshi
Ashmita Bakshi is receiving a good response for her theatrical play Shiv Shakti, in which she portrays the divine feminine through three different shades: Shakti, Sati and Parvati.
From the writing and music to the performances, lighting and stage design, the production has drawn appreciation from audiences, making the experience particularly special for the actor.
The reactions that I got for my play Shiv Shakti were surreal and were absolutely amazing. People loved the entire setup, the show right from the writing to the song, to the characters, to the acting.
Everything people have just loved, Ashmita Bakshi said.
The LED behind, the background sound, the smallest of the things people have noticed, and they have really loved it.
And probably they were not expecting it at this level, but we are glad that we could deliver it, Ashmita Bakshi added.
Playing three different shades of Devi has made the experience even more meaningful for her.

For my character, my Devi’s character, right from Shakti to Sati to Parvati, I am so blessed that I’ve got so much love from people, from my family, from my friends, and from the people who have come to watch the play.
They have literally come up to me and shared their experience, sharing the kind of feeling that they experienced when they saw me performing these three different shades of Devi, Ashmita Bakshi said.
And I’m so blessed that I got to do this part, and this feeling of blessing I was feeling right from the time when I got the role two months back.
And now when the result is, you know, just starting to show out in the form of a play, finally we are getting to experience it right from the audience. And that’s the beauty of doing a theatrical play, Ashmita Bakshi added.
The response was evident from the play’s premiere, which was houseful, followed by two more shows.
I felt really glad. Of course, the premiere was the hall filled with people from different areas of industry, of different industries actually.

People who are fond of play came; they are people who are from the film industry.
A lot of people who just enjoy watching play are absolutely from different working backgrounds, like maybe from a job background.
Somebody is a housewife, and so many different people have come from all walks of life, and all of them enjoyed it; all of them loved the beauty of the play, Ashmita Bakshi said.
So, we came to know that just with the hype, just with the right kind of promotions, just with the right kind of scenes being put out on social media, we have got a lot of walk-ins after the premiere just through word of mouth.
So, I feel that we are glad that we could deliver it, Ashmita Bakshi ended.
