Actress Somy Ali penned an emotional tribute to the late Satish Shah, recalling his warmth, humor, and guidance from their time on Teesra Kaun.
She remembered him as a rare soul whose kindness and humanity left an everlasting impact on her life.
The film and television industry continues to mourn the loss of veteran actor Satish Shah, whose remarkable career and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on generations of artists and audiences alike. Among those deeply affected by his passing is actress and humanitarian Somy Ali, who shared an emotional tribute remembering him not just as a co-star, but as a guiding force and a kind-hearted mentor.
She shared, “Satish uncle’s passing has hit me like a ton of bricks. While we only worked together in Teesra Kaun, he meant so much more to me than just a co-star. He had this warmth that instantly made people feel safe and seen. On set, I was extremely quiet and withdrawn, often keeping to myself. He used to jokingly call me ‘Sehmi Ali’ because I would hardly talk to anyone.”
Somy recalled how Shah’s warmth and kindness helped her break out of her shell. She recalled, “One day, he literally grabbed my hand and said, ‘From now on, you’ll sit with us during breaks.’ That small, affectionate gesture completely changed my experience on that film. It was the start of a beautiful friendship. He became my mentor and someone I could confide in about anything, personal or professional.”
She remembered him as someone whose humor and empathy uplifted everyone around him. She said, “Whenever I was low or going through something personal, he would always find a way to make me laugh. His presence was like sunshine, gentle, comforting, and full of life. Even after we finished shooting Teesra Kaun, he would still check in on me. That’s rare in this industry.”
Struggling to come to terms with the loss, Somy added, “Satish uncle was one of the best human beings I’ve ever met, humble, compassionate, and full of goodness. His passing has left a void that can never be filled. I’ll always cherish the laughter, wisdom, and kindness he brought into my life.”
