Shivangi Verma: Luck Is The Spark, But Preparation Must Be The Fire

Shivangi Verma opens up about the role of luck, timing, and preparation in her career, sharing why she believes persistence and self-belief matter more than quick fame.

In an industry as competitive and unpredictable as entertainment, success rarely comes overnight. Shivangi Verma, who has been part of Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, Choti Sarrdaarni, and currently seen in the web series Yeh Hai Sanak, believes that while talent opens doors, it’s timing, preparation, and persistence that truly keep them open.

Shivangi Verma has built her journey on patience and perspective, values that continue to guide her as she navigates the ever-evolving entertainment space. Reflecting on how she approaches opportunities, she says, “I’ve learnt that opportunities don’t arrive on a silver platter. The competition today is real, and that has kept me humble and hungry. I believe in being ready for the ‘right one’ rather than chasing everything that comes my way.”

She explains that aligning one’s craft, instincts, and heart is crucial in this field. “When the right door opens, you should be prepared to walk through it,” she says, adding, “And in the meantime, persistence is non-negotiable.”

For Shivangi Verma, luck plays a role, but only to an extent. She admits that she has experienced those “right place, right time” moments that have shaped her path, but she’s clear about what sustains success in the long run.

She says,

“Yes, luck plays a part, but it can only take you so far. Without hard work, even luck runs out. I once said that when there’s no opportunity, no matter how much we strive, our work might not be seen. So to me, luck is the spark, but your preparation must be the fire.”
